I didn't become an author on my own. I had lots of encouragement from my family, and I benefitted from the knowledge of other authors, to whom I'm grateful beyond words. And now I'm paying it forward by offering my expertise in the form of writing workshops.

It's been both an honor and a privilege to teach students eager to learn the techniques that might one day help them achieve their goal of becoming a published author.

My workshops are given on-line through several writers' groups, and they're available to everyone for a very reasonable fee. They range in topic from creating characters to writing dialogue to writing a killer plot twist.

I’ll be presenting two workshop this March, and I hope you’ll join me. The first is Take Your Characters From Flat to Fabulous: Creating Characters Your Readers Will Love. In this course, you’ll learn how to take your characters from a flat, formless idea to a living, breathing, three-dimensional person your readers can root for, care about, and fall in love with. The workshop runs from March 3-28th.

My second workshop is Those Who Forget History: Using Backstory to Enhance Your Novel. In this class, students will examine how to use backstory effectively to enhance their stories using elements of a character’s past.

I hope you’ll join me for one, if not both workshops, and hopefully learn a few things that will help you on your writing journey.

I hope to see some of you there. I enjoy teaching these workshops and using what I’ve learned to help other authors.
